Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Hastings Lake
Hastings Lake Gardens is one of my favourite Edmonton area wedding venues. Their grounds are meticulously kept and look beautiful in the spring, summer and fall. I love the variety of locations where wedding portraits can be taken and I find something new every single time I shoot a ceremony there! I have photographed there over a dozen times and each one brings something different. Each couple brings something different. It’s awesome!
This couple was no exception — Tralene contacted me about photographing her and James’ wedding after seeing some engagement pictures I did in Edmonton for friends of hers, Amy and Elliot. I met up with Tralene & James to discuss their wedding day over some delicious coffee. Tralene has a wonderful sense of humour and is such a sweet and beautiful person, inside and out — you seriously can’t help but like her immediately! James is the calm to Tralene’s storm and is SO hilarious and so super duper laid back, he makes you feel comfortable right away. And the way he looks at her??! I melt every time.
Their wedding day started out at Hastings Lake Gardens outside of Sherwood Park. The weather was beautiful and so were the attendees! Family and friends gathered to support and uplift the couple. Their wedding reception was held at the Slovenian Hall on the north end of Edmonton — a reception venue I had not photographed at before. Besides being very large with lots of parking, I loved the chandeliers the hall has put in as well as the pretty mural on the wall. The evening held many heartfelt speeches, lots of dancing and some delicious food; overall it was an amazing day.
Thanks again to Tralene & James for choosing me to capture your wedding day — and thanks to Todd for being a great assistant and for loaning me your camera holster when I forgot mine at home. *eye roll* Made the day go by much more smoothly and saved me a mega back ache!
